Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav is set to embark on his Jan Vishwas Yatra on Tuesday, weeks after Janata Dal (United) supremo and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar snapped ties with RJD to form a BJP-led NDA government.
Ahead of the Yatra, Tejashwi Yadav, in a video message posted on social media, heavily criticised Nitish Kumar and accused him of bringing political instability to the state.
“Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar lacks vision and is old-fashioned in his outlook. His habit of making frequent political somersaults has put Bihar into a fix as the most critical political stability part is badly hampered,” Tejashwi Yadav said.
The political instability prevalent in the state is a disgrace to democracy,” Tejashwi added as he underscored his speech in the legislative assembly on the day of the floor test.
Calling Nitish Kumar’s vision “obsolete,” Tejashwi further said that he could deliver only ten percent of what he actually could due to Nitish’s alleged “old-fashioned approach” to problem-solving.
“It was the same Nitish who distributed appointment letters with us in the alliance who once questioned the financial viability of such large-scale recruitments,” Tejashwi mentioned.
He further asserted that large-scale recruitment conducted by Bihar’s Mahagathbandhan government brought back fundamental issues, including unemployment, to mainstream discourse, apparently forcing the Prime Minister to distribute recruitment letters on a large scale.
The RJD leader also blamed Nitish Kumar for planning to dissolve the state legislative assembly ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Tejashwi alleged that Nitish wants to hold state assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously.
He also accused the BJP of cluttering mainstream political discourse with communal melancholy.
Tejashwi Yadav, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav’s younger son and former Deputy Chief Minister, is set to visit 33 districts on his much-hyped Jan Viswas Yatra commencing from Muzaffarpur on Tuesday. The RJD leader will be pitting the achievements of the 17-month Mahagathbandhan government against the 17 years of NDA rule in Bihar.
This yatra is likely to fuel the already raging credit war between the incumbent JD(U) and friends-turned-foe RJD over the large recruitment made by the state education department.
