Celebrity volunteers such as Joj and Jai Agpangan, Andrei King, Althea Ablan, and Prince Clemente graced the occasion with their enthusiastic participation. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the gracious invitation to partake in this momentous event,” says the Agpangan Twins. “It is with great hope and enthusiasm that we join hands and foster a collective awareness to contribute towards the betterment of our beloved planet Earth” they added.

The event is one of the initiatives under the agency’s project Sambayahinan. Its primary objective was to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds, such as community leaders, environmental enthusiasts, and the younger generation, in an active and collaborative endeavor to restore our surroundings through reforestation.

Nayong Pilipino and AirAsia firmly believe in the power of community and environmental stewardship. Together, they have crafted an unforgettable experience that combines education, advocacy, and hands-on engagement.

As a co-host of this remarkable event, AirAsia recognizes the environmental impact of aircraft and is committed to addressing the pollution issue.

Nayong Pilipino Foundation Executive Director Gertie Duran-Batocabe shares, “We gather as a unified force with a noble mission that extends far beyond merely planting trees to sequester carbon dioxide from our environment but to give back to the Filipinos by helping us create a greener and more vibrant space, which will be the future Nayong Pilipino Cultural Park.”

“We laud Air Asia as they exemplify their dedication to walk the talk in achieving goals of offsetting carbon emission. We hope this will serve as an inspiration to other corporations as well to take their responsibilities in our fight against climate change.’”

During his speech, AirAsia CEO Mr. Ricky Isla shared a personal anecdote about his newfound passion for plants, referring to himself as a self-proclaimed “plantito.” He highlighted that this interest had emerged during the pandemic, as he recognized the significance of our surroundings and the vital role they play in our well-being.
