Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’s decision to cancel the 2026 Commonwealth Games is a “serious humiliation” on Australia’s reputation, says Herald Sun’s business commentator Terry McCrann.
“I do not think there is enough lipstick in the entire state of Victoria to smear on this pig,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
“Andrews made a very bold effort to do so today but this is a fundamental and really serious humiliation.
“The damage it does to Victoria’s and Australia’s reputation in global financial markets – that’s the really serious thing.”
