Russia launched a deadly attack on a blood transfusion centre in Ukraine amid a multi-wave attack, Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian president said people were killed and injured after a “guided bomb” struck the facility in the northeastern town of Kupiansk. He did not provide details on the number of casualties.
Footage showed the building on fire, with its roof blown off and crumbling walls, windows and doors.
“This war crime alone says everything about Russian aggression,” Zelensky said.
The incident came as Russia fired a wave of missiles and drones at Ukraine overnight, using 70 air-assault weapons in total, including cruise and hypersonic missiles and Iranian-made drones, Kyiv’s Air Force said on Sunday.
At least 10 missiles appeared to have breached Ukraine’s air defences. There was no immediate comment from Russia.
