Homicide detectives say the victims of Thursday’s homicide inside a Richmond home were a father and his teenage son.
At about 10:30 p.m, Richmond RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 6200-block of Goldsmith Drive. When they arrived they located the bodies of a 46-year old man and a 13-year old boy, both residents of the house.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and the the B.C. Coroners Service were called in to investigate. Investigators believe this was a targeted hit but they are still trying to figure out a motive.RCMP say the house is situated in the area of the Rocky View nature playground and the London Sports Fields.
Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, a spokesperson for IHIT, is asking anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Thursday to contact IHIT.
Anyone who was driving or parked in the area who has dash-cam footage is also asked to contact police.
IHIT is asking anyone with information about this case to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
RCMP issued a brief statement on Friday saying that two people were dead but provided no details at the time.
