A policeman posted on Juhu beach saved two kids from drowning in the sea Friday night.
According to the police, two kids, Sameer Pawar, 10, and Bhim Kale, 7, ventured into the sea from the Juhu Koliwada Landing Point end of the Juhu beach. Soon the two kids got trapped in the high current of the seawater, making them unable to swim out.
Police constable Vishnu Bhaurao Bele from the Santacruz police station, who was posted at the beach, spotted the two drowning in the sea. He jumped into the water and brought them out.
After primary medication, the kids were handed over to their parents by the Santacruz police station.
Rajendra Kane, senior police inspector of the Santacruz police station, said that Bele did a brave job, making the police department proud. “We would felicitate him for his exemplary work,” Kane said.
