Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared an India Today video and hit out at critics over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s win in the recently concluded assembly elections.
The votes were counted on December 3 and the BJP emerged victorious in three states – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
“May they be happy with their arrogance, lies, pessimism and ignorance,” the post read.
“Beware of their divisive agenda. An old habit of 70 years can’t go away so easily. Also, such is the wisdom of the people that they have to be prepared for many more meltdowns ahead,” it added.
The post by India Today, with anchor Shiv Aroor, was captioned ‘Meltdown-e-Azam’ and showed the Congress’s reaction to its electoral defeat.
The BJP swept Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh on Sunday, inflicting a resounding defeat on the Congress to tighten its hold in the Hindi heartland, in a big boost for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and setting the tone for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In some consolation for the Congress in the face of the saffron wave after it lost Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the grand old party ousted the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana.
