Mumbai News Live Updates: Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. Tributes have been pouring for the martyrs of the attack that killed 160 people and left over 300 injured.
After fifteen years of the attack, Mumbai Police filed its chargesheet against Pakistani-origin Canadian businessman Tahawwur Rana, this year, to help extradite him to India to face multiple charges for his role. The case has seen one completed trial with terrorist Ajmal Kasab captured alive, put to trial, sentenced to death and hanged on November 21, 2012. However, several other perpetrators are yet to face trial.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have managed to ramp up security arrangements within the city by identifying over a dozen potentially vulnerable landing points along the city’s 114-km coastaline to be patrolled 24 X 7, deploying new quick-response police teams, bringing in drones to supplement coastal security. Even though Maharashtra Government bought a fleet of 46 high-speed and amphibious boats, as many as 38, as The Indian Express reported Friday, are defunct.
