Montreal formally inaugurated Warren-Allmand Park on Friday, renaming the previous Somerled Park subsequent to Royal Vale College after the long-time MP for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

Allmand’s widow, Rosemarie Nolan Allmand, and son Patrick helped unveil the park’s new signal with borough mayor Gracia Kasoki Katahwa.

Allmand, who died in 2016, represented the N.D.G. using from 1965 to 1997 and served as solicitor normal of Canada beneath Pierre Trudeau, throughout which he abolished the demise penalty within the nation.

Warren-Allmand Park is bordered by Somerled, Hingston and Hampton Aves. It features a youngsters’s playground, 12 tennis courts, a picnic space and washrooms.
