Kim Williams has been named the new chairman of the ABC by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Communications Minister Michelle Rowland.
“Williams was the head of Foxtel, Sky News’ carriage, and was CEO of News Limited,” said Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.
“In earlier days he ran the Southern Star production company and for a time was in senior management at the ABC.
“He is also a former Chairman of the Sydney Opera House Trust, among other organisations.”
Mr Williams replaces Ita Buttrose, who will end her five-year term in March.
