The Zeekr 001 FR electric liftback from Geely was officially unveiled in the brand’s social media. At the same time, we have found some spy shots of the new model. It will have a new interior design, a slightly adjusted exterior styling and an optional LiDAR sensor on the roof. Let’s get to know the Zeekr 001 FR better.
Zeekr 001 FR details
The first official images of the Zeekr 001 FR were posted by the brand’s Instagram official account. As we can see in the picture, it maintained the overall design of the ‘regular’ 001 liftback, with a few exceptions. The most obvious of them is the new front bumper of the 001 FR. It has got more aggressive air intakes, front spoiler and the red stripe that underlines its performance capabilities. The rear end has adjusted bumper and a rear spoiler. It is interesting that in actual post Zeekr said “Plaid is dull”. So, we can clearly see that the Geely’s high end brand is aiming to compete with Tesla.
Of course, the official pictures aren’t very informative, but spies in China were lucky to capture the Zeekr 001 FR during road tests. Of course, it is partly covered with camouflage, but we can still distinguish its main features. We have already covered changes in its front end design. However, there is one more thing about it. The Zeekr 001 FR has an optional LiDAR sensor on the roof. The rear end of the 001 FR has also become more aggressive with a sporty diffuser, triangular-shaped reflectors and more sharp lines and angles.
Inside, the Zeekr 001 FR has a new LCD instrument panel that looks like a semicircle. The regular 001 has a thinner instrument cluster. The center tunnel remained unchanged, except for the new color scheme. As for the seats of the 001 FR, they have got a new pattern. And the final change is the door card. Its styling was also adjusted. Here, we will also mention that the Zeekr 001 FR will also get a new version of software. We can tell it by the screen layout. On the screen, we can see the “Special Edition” inscription.
Zeekr 001 details
Dimensions, powertrain and other specs of the Zeekr 001 FR have yet to be unveiled. However, we will remind you that the 001 is a liftback with dimensions of 4970/1999/1560 and a wheelbase of 3000 mm. For clarity, the 001 is 4 mm shorter, 32 mm wider and 151 mm higher than the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. In terms of powertrain, it has two options. The first one is RWD with 272 hp. As for the second one, it has 544 horses.
As for the battery, the smaller one has a capacity of 86 kWh with a range of 546 km (CLTC). It comes with 4WD only. The second battery option is a 100-kWh pack for 741 km of CLTC range in the RWD-version and 656 km with 4WD. The biggest battery of the 001 has a capacity of 140 kWh. It comes with rear-wheel drive only. And its range reaches 1,032 km (CLTC).
In China, the Zeekr 001 costs 300,000 – 403,000 yuan (41,630 – 55,930 USD). Recently, Zeekr opened pre-sales of the 001 in Europe with a starting price of the vehicle at 55,940 EUR (61,020 USD). The mass-production of the Euro-version Zeekr 001 has already started in China. Moreover, Zeekr will soon start sales in Israel and Kazakhstan.
Update
Zeekr has officially announced that the 001 FR is a special version of the regular model. It will have enhanced performance and a price tag of over 1 million yuan (138,700 USD). We are still waiting for further information.
