Where to watch the Matildas vs England Women’s World Cup semifinal live in Sydney

Petting zoos, kick-arounds and prize raffles will be on offer at sites across Sydney showing the Matildas vs England Women’s World Cup semifinal live on Wednesday night.

Both the Sydney Football Stadium in Moore Park and Western Sydney Stadium in Parramatta have been announced as viewing sites for the match. 

ABC Radio Sydney will have full coverage live from Stadium Australia from 7pm, ahead of kick off at 8pm. 

Match commentary will be broadcast on 702 AM in Sydney, digital radio, the ABC Radio Sydney website and on the ABC Listen App.

But if you’re in Sydney, don’t have tickets to the game and want to watch it live in your local area, here’s what councils have organised.

Live viewing sites:

Blacktown

Warrick Lane, Blacktown. The site has been showing all the games of the Women’s World Cup and will be showing the other semifinal, as well as the third-place play-off and the grand final.

Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub, Springwood.Katoomba Sports and Aquatic Centre, Katoomba.

Burwood

Residents are encouraged to attend the screening at Burwood RSL. Burwood Council are not holding a screening at Henley Park, citing forecasted wet weather. 

Camden

Onslow Oval, Camden. Open from 6pm. Picnic rugs and chairs are encouraged by Camden Council.

Campbelltown

Campbelltown Athletic Centre, Leumeah. Gates open at 6:30pm, with food available from a vendor at the ground. Campbelltown City Council says fans may bring picnic blankets and chairs.

Cumberland

Merrylands Civic Square, Merrylands.

Hawkesbury

McQuade Oval at McQuade Park, Windsor. Face painting available and food vendors on site.

Hills District

Rouse Hill Town Centre Market Square, Rouse Hill. Pop-up retailers and food vendors on site. The Hills Shire Council is encouraging attendees to bring picnic rugs and camping chairs.

Georges River

Hurstville Plaza, Hurstville. Face painting available from 7pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic blankets or chairs.

Inner West

Mackey Park, Marrickville. Open from 7pm. The Inner West Council encourages attendees to bring their own rugs and low chairs.

Ku-ring-gai

Wahroonga Park, Wahroonga. Best dressed fan prize available.

Lane Cove

The Canopy, Lane Cove. Picnic rugs, low chairs and BYO food are encouraged by Lane Cove Council.

Liverpool

Cirillo Reserve, Middleton Grange. Open from 7pm. 

North Sydney

North Sydney Oval, North Sydney.

Northern Beaches

Cromer Park, Cromer. Open from 7pm. Northern Beaches Councilencourages attendees to bring food.

Parramatta

Parramatta Square and Centenary Square, Parramatta. The City of Parramatta has expanded its live site, which has been running throughout the Women’s World Cup. There will be two screens in Parramatta Square and a screen in Centenary Square. Pre-match entertainment will be on site from 4pm, including a petting zoo, face painting, games and food vendors.

Penrith

The Mondo community space, Penrith, between The Joan and Westfield. Pre-game activities and food trucks will be on site from 6pm.

Randwick

Heffron Synthetic Soccer Field, Maroubra. Randwick City Council says the free ticketed event it is already fully booked.

Ryde

The City of Ryde Council is supporting a live site at Top Ryde City shopping centre. An extraordinary council meeting is being held on Tuesday evening to establish live sites for the remaining Matildas’ games. 

Strathfield

Strathfield Square, Strathfield. All matches in the tournament featuring the Matildas and the grand final will be shown at the site.

Sutherland

Sutherland Shire Council is not holding any live sites, but encourages residents to support local clubs showing the match.Loading…

Tumbalong Park, FIFA Fan Festival. Showing all remaining games in the tournament.Green Square Plaza, Zetland. Showing all remaining games in the tournament.

Waverley

Willoughby

Chatswood Concourse, Chatswood.

Wollondilly

Victoria Park, Picton. Gates open at 6pm. 

The following Sydney area councils indicated they did not have a public live site for the Matildas vs England semifinal: Bayside, Hunters Hill, Mosman, Canada Bay, Canterbury-Bankstown, Fairfield, Hornsby, Woollahra.
