Today’s release of an AI-assisted Beatles song was the most prominent of a number of news stories designed to chew up newscast time and space, as the network evening newscasts continue to avoid reporting on the Biden bribery scandal. Here are some of the others.
CBS and Univision both dedicated precious newscast minutes (and in CBS’ case, some unfortunate graphics) to a Doordash pilot program which will warn consumers that not tipping their driver may result in delayed delivery. No Biden-Burisma or China bribe money, but plenty in furtherance of the ongoing retail tip tyranny. As Today reported:
Hungry customers whose food delivery arrives late and cold may have no one to blame but themselves, according to a new warning by DoorDash.
On Nov. 1, DoorDash announced it’s testing a new system to warn customers who don’t tip, urging folks to reconsider before they complete their order. As first reported by The Verge, DoorDash says it has already begun testing the new in-app warning in the hopes of providing the best possible experience for delivery drivers, customers and restaurants.
BABY, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE: My NAD brethren warned me that ABC’s David Muir loves him some weather reports, and sure enough: tonight’s viewers got a full minute devoted to the idea that it’s going to be cold outside. Hopefully, it won’t be a cold day in Hell before ABC News gets around to reporting on the ring of foreign-financed corruption encircling the Biden Mafia.
FROM UNFORTUNATE GRAPHICS TO UNFORTUNATE IRONY: Brutal night for CBS. Tonight’s “Eye on America” feature was on…the National Industries for the Blind (great feature horribly disserved by the main studio), who manufacture the (high-quality, based on my personal experience) pens used by the U.S. military. Here’s hoping CBS soon see themselves covering 10% for the Big Guy.
BEATLEMANIA: The consensus closing story, of course, was the worldwide release of AI-assisted “Here and Now”, written by John Lennon in the late ’70s. Good for one to two minutes across the dial, some Boomer nostalgia to ease the viewing public into game shows or celebrity gossip, and away from that sweet, sweet Rosemont Seneca cash.
As our friend Geoff Dickens notes, it is 146 days and counting since the Biden-Burisma scandal broke. ABC, CBS, and NBC have yet to cover the scandal. The above were some of the stories that the networks thought had more editorial merit than Biden-Burisma.
