Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is devouring the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary.
With 11:39 remaining in the second quarter, Browns quarterback Joe Flacco threw a quick pass to Njoku, who turned it into a 30-yard TD, giving Cleveland a 14-0 lead. The TE has three receptions for 63 yards and two TDs through two quarters.
The Browns have had QB questions throughout the season. Starter Deshaun Watson — who posted a below-average 44.6 QBR in six games — recently underwent season-ending shoulder surgery. To add more QB depth, Cleveland recently signed Flacco, who is 38.
Regardless, Njoku is thriving and making a Pro Bowl case. Entering Week 14, he leads the team in receptions (53), receiving TDs (two) and is second in receiving yards (509).
Don’t be surprised if he keeps dominating a Jacksonville defense that struggles to stop the pass. The Jaguars are 30th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game (261.7).
