VANCOUVER, B.C.: Thursday, Aug. 17. Today’s weather is expected to be sunny, with light wind and highs of 25 C and 29 C inland, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. The heat warning has been lifted for the region, however the agency is warning about wind and dry lightning on the Coquihalla Highway. A special weather statement has been posted, saying strong gusty winds combined with dry lightning and heat could exacerbate the wildfire situation.

Overnight, it looks clear but windy, with lows of 16 C and then Friday should be mainly sunny, with highs of 22 C and 25 C inland. Then expect clear skies for the weekend, with highs of 24 C on Saturday followed by 25 C and 29 C inland on Sunday. There’s more sunshine in the forecast for Monday, with highs of 23 C and 27 C inland.
