Uncertainty of the Voice is ‘not attractive’ to the Australian people

Barrister Ishita Sethi says the Voice to Parliament’s uncertainty in its ability to change the fundamental system of government is “not attractive” to the Australian people.

Ms Sethi says the issue with the Voice to Parliament is the “legal consequences” that will result from making an amendment to the constitution.

“It’s going to make a change to our fundamental system of government in ways that we really cannot anticipate,” Ms Sethi told Sky News host Amanda Stoker.

“The reality is that no-one can actually say what this change will result in.

“And more importantly, whether it will actually lead to the improved outcomes that we are all wanting for the disadvantaged Indigenous peoples of Australia.”
