Two more arrests in Hatkeshwar bridge case

Two extra individuals of a undertaking administration marketing consultant (PMC) firm within the dock over the dilapidated situation of the Hatkeshwar bridge have been arrested by the Khokhra police Tuesday.

Pravinbhai Desai (62) and Bhailalbhai Pandya (65), who had been working as group leader-cum-coordinator with SGS India Non-public Restricted — the PMC agency accused of legal breach of belief, dishonest and legal conspiracy, had been arrested from Ahmedabad.

Pandya was arrested on June 12 and has been despatched to police remand till June 19, whereas Desai was arrested on June 10 and is in police remand till June 14.

“As group leader-cum-coordinator, the 2 had been accountable for spot supervision of the bridge. They had been accountable for sustaining registers of who all are coming, supervising day-to-day operations, who’re visiting on behalf of AMC throughout the ongoing undertaking, inspecting the supply of supplies getting used, and so on,” stated Khokhra police inspector AY Patel.

Pandya misplaced his son to suicide just a few months in the past and was not arrested to this point on compassionate grounds, stated a police official.
