Two dead after house fire in Calgary’s Glenbrook neighbourhood

A neighbour who became aware of the fire entered the home and pulled one person out onto the front lawn and began CPR. The fire commander on scene reported two occupants of the home were able to escape the home on their own

Fire crews took over patient care of the individual requiring CPR and others began an “aggressive interior fire attack” while searching for other occupants. Another victim was removed from the basement of the home and was transferred to an awaiting emergency medical services crew.

Two people in the home “succumbed to their injuries,” the fire department confirmed in its statement, while the two other occupants were assessed and released by AHS on scene.

The fire department remains on scene Wednesday morning to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
