Donald Trump rallied supporters in Mosinee, Wisconsin on Saturday, in his first visit to the deep-red, mostly rural part of the important swing state.
The former president made a new attack against Vice President Kamala Harris, suggesting expanding the 25th Amendment to include the possibility of removing a vice president for shielding any health issues of a president from public view. Trump has been openly bitter about President Joe Biden’s decision to exit the 2024 race.
Accusing Harris and other Biden allies of pushing him out of the race in a “cover-up,” Trump told the crowd: “I will support modifying the 25th Amendment to make clear that if a vice president lies or engages in a conspiracy to cover up the incapacity of the president of the United States — if you do that with a cover-up of the president of the United States, it’s grounds for impeachment immediately and removal from office, ‘cause that’s what they did.”
At another point during the rally, Trump offered an explanation for his frequent references to the fictional cannibal Hannibal Lecter.
The Silence of the Lambs character is a “representative of people that are coming into our country,” he said.

The Gossip Girl-like dynamics of the Supreme Court
There is perhaps no branch of government that fosters secrecy or harbors sneaky resentment to a degree even Gossip Girl herself would be astonished with, than the Supreme Court.
The highest court in the land has purposefully cast an opaque fog over its internal workings for decades, but in this past term, it was clear from their opinions that there was drama behind the scenes.
If the court itself is Gossip Girl then Barrett is season two Jenny Humphrey. That’s to say, she’s breaking ranks with her OG squad and finding her own voice – although with less goth eyeliner.
The Gossip Girl-like dynamics of the Supreme Court
Every family is bound to have drama, including the nine-person ménage on the Supreme Court. Hints of tensions and frustrations were noticeable this part term — with Amy Coney Barrett in the center of the drama. Ariana Baio breaks it down

Harris turns to her favorite foods in effort to show a more private side and connect with voters
One of the biggest challenges for Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris in the final stretch of the campaign is introducing herself to voters before her Republican rival, Donald Trump, has a chance to define her.
Until her sudden election to the top of the Democratic ticket this summer, Harris was still a somewhat unknown figure in national politics, driven in part by her aversion to opening up and embracing the spotlight. And since she’s become the nominee, Republicans have criticized Harris for not doing many interviews or giving enough specifics on her policy plans.
But the vice president is sharing personal details about her childhood, cooking and food to show her more private side.
Trump says his plan to expel millions of immigrants will be a ‘bloody story’
That’s when Trump alluded to the blood.
“And ya know getting them out will be a bloody story,” Trump said. “[Undocumented immigrants] should have never been allowed to come into our country. Nobody checked them.”

George W Bush won’t be making 2024 presidential endorsement
Cheney’s daughter, leading Trump critic Liz Cheney, has also called on fellow conservatives to vote for Harris in November.
Harris and running mate Tim Walz have courted Republicans who refuse to vote for Trump, with Harris saying in a CNN interview that she would consider appointing a Republican to her cabinet.

Elton John says Trump’s ‘Little Rocket Man’ nickname for Kim Jong-un was ‘brilliant’
Elton John has weighed in on Donald Trump’s “Little Rocket Man” nickname for North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, calling it “brilliant”.
He also encouraged Americans to “make the right decision” in November’s election.
Speaking to Variety at the Toronto International Film Festival, John admitted “I laughed, I thought that was brilliant,” when he heard about Trump’s name for Kim, which the former US president began calling the North Korean leader in 2017.
John then went on to explain his relationship with Trump, adding: “I just thought, ‘Good on you, Donald.’ … Donald’s always been a fan of mine, and he’s been to my concerts many, many times. So, I mean, I’ve always been friendly toward him, and I thank him for his support. When he did that, I just thought it was hilarious. It made me laugh.”

Meet the man who pretends to be Trump for Kamala Harris’s debate prep
A man who described Donald Trump as a “malevolent George Costanza” and a “malfunctioning appliance” is helping Kamala Harris prepare for her first debate with the former president.
Philippe Reines, a former deputy assistant secretary of state and senior advisor to Hillary Clinton, is the stand-in for Trump in mock debates ahead of the real thing on September 10.
This is the second time he has played the role after acting as Trump in Clinton’s own preparations in September 2016, and he takes the job seriously.

Second Trump term more worrying due to ‘dangerous’ foreign policy – ex-diplomat
A former British ambassador to the US said he worries “more about a Trump second term than his first term” as the former president’s foreign policy is “dangerous”.
Speaking on Sky News’ Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips, Lord Kim Darroch said he thought the UK Government would find it “difficult” to deal with Donald Trump and that Tuesday’s debate between the two presidential candidates could be “pivotal” for the election.
Lord Darroch told the programme he thought Kamala Harris had given a “mixed performance” at previous events and while Mr Trump was “not actually a great debater”, he had a “very forceful presence”.

Former GOP Congresswoman says she’s voting Democrat for first time in her life in 2024
Former Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney said that 2024 is the first time she’ll ever vote as a Democrat.
Cheney recently endorsed Harris, citing the “dangers” posed by a second Donald Trump term. She also announced that her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, would also be voting for Harris.
When she spoke with ABC News earlier this week, she revealed that not only was she not voting Republican, but that her vote for Harris would mark the first time she had ever voted for a Democrat.
“It tells you, I think, the stakes in this election,” she said. “Donald Trump presents a challenge and a threat fundamentally to the republic.”

‘She needs to let Trump be Trump’: Inside Kamala Harris’s unconventional debate prep
Less than three months ago, a disastrous debate performance by President Joe Biden put Kamala Harris on a collision course with Donald Trump.
Now at the top of the Democratic ticket, Harris’s first public face-off with Trump on the ABC debate stage in Philadelphia is just days away. Right now, she is hunkered down in Pittsburgh for intensive preparations with a close circle of aides and confidantes who are getting her ready for her best — and perhaps only — chance to convince Americans that she, and not the former president, should spend the next four years in the White House.
According to NOTUS, the vice president will be participating in sessions led by Paul Weiss partner Karen Dunn, the Washington super-lawyer who masterminded then-Senator Harris’s prep for her 2020 debate against her predecessor, Mike Pence. Harris will also reportedly be coached by her veteran policy adviser Rohini Kosoglu, as well as Democratic National Convention mastermind and longtime operative Minyon Moore; domestic policy aide Brian Nelson; campaign chief-of-staff Sheila Nix; veteran adviser Sean Clegg; and Cedric Richmond, the former Louisiana congressman who is a co-chair of her campaign.
