Six days after he was transferred from Moga to a village in Patiala, health supervisor Mahinder Pal Loomba on Sunday levelled allegations of graft against local AAP MLA Dr Amandeep Kaur Arora as well as Moga civil hospital’s senior medical officer, Dr Sukhpreet Singh Brar.

Loomba — whose transfer from Moga civil surgeon’s office to Patiala had evoked protests by health department workers and others — had on Friday alleged that he was shunted due to “political reasons”.

He claimed that he was transferred as he did not invite local AAP MLA to the mega blood donation camp which was organized in Moga on June 14. He also took to Facebook, wherein he had posted his transfer order and had written that he never knew he would had to pay such a heavy price for not inviting an MLA to a blood donation camp.

In a fresh statement issued on Sunday, Loomba alleged that he has been removed from Moga as he was in possession of “several proofs” in connection with the “widespread corruption” that was ongoing at Moga Civil Hospital.

Training his gun at Moga AAP MLA, Amandeep Kaur Arora, Loomba said,”Three air-conditioners (ACs) of Moga Civil Hospital have been installed at the residence of the MLA. She is also using the driver from Moga Civil Hospital for her personal work. She has also taken a bribe of Rs 3 lakh from SMO in exchange for his posting at Moga. The Civil Hospital in Moga has become a hotspot of corruption.”

Contacted, Moga MLA Amandeep Arora, denied all allegations against her, dubbing them “utterly baseless”. Sukhpreet Brar, on the other hand, said that he had filed a police complaint against Loomba for “tarnishing his image” without any proof or basis.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Brar said: “This man (Loomba) is not even an employee of Moga Civil Hospital. he was employed at the civil surgeon office. I am having 80% disability in my legs and even then I am doing my duty sincerely and with utmost dedication. I have been posted as SMO in Moga since January 2021. He is dragging my name into this issue just because of his own tussle with the MLA. I never gave any bribe for being posted in Moga. It is because of my physical disability that I am posted in my hometown. I have submitted a written complaint to the SSP to take legal action against the person who is issuing baseless allegations against me.”

Speaking to the media, MLA Arora said, “If we look at Loomba’s history, earlier also he has been transferred twice during previous governments and then also he had raised a hue and cry in a similar manner. During the SAD-BJP government, he had made similar allegations against veteran Akali Dal leader, Tota Singh, and had claimed that he got him transferred due to political reasons. He did the same during the previous Congress regime too.

Last year, when I was elected as the MLA, he came to me and said I am the most honest MLA Moga has ever got. He said that the Congress government transferred him because he was an AAP worker. As far as allegations against me are concerned, anyone is welcome to come to my home and see if any AC, which belongs to the civil hospital, has been installed here. Earlier he said that ACs are installed at my Moga residence and then he changed his statement and said they were installed at my official residence in Chandigarh. The official residences of MLAs in Chandigarh are already fully-furnished. Similarly, we also have our own official drivers for our vehicles.”

Moga SSP, J Elanchezhian, said that a complaint has been received from Sukpreet Brar and it has been marked to an SP-ranked officer for investigations.
