Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City in a fascinating clash that could decide where the Premier League title ends up this season.
Man City, aiming to win the league for a fourth year in a row, come into the match second in the table just one point behind Arsenal. This match is their game in hand and should they triumph they will take a two-point lead into the final weekend of the season. A draw tonight would mean City need to make up a three-goal difference and match Arsenal’s result on Sunday while a defeat would leave the Gunners in control of the title race.
For Spurs, their target is the top four. Aston Villa failed to defeat Liverpool last night meaning their is still a chance that Tottenham can leapfrog them into the final qualifying spot for the Champions League. Spurs are four/five points behind Villa so must beat Man City to have any hope of finishing fourth.

HT – Tottenham 0-0 Man City
Three shots apiece so far, just one on target each team. Spurs bossing possession on 55%, 4-2 in corners too.
And yet City have had the best chance with that Foden effort – but neither have clicked into gear just yet.
Guardiola will be demanding his side produce more in the middle third in particular, while for Spurs it’s about being more incisive with that final pass, especially from the right channel.

HT – Tottenham 0-0 Man City
And there’s the half-time whistle – not an awful lot has happened, weirdly. Both teams tense and tame, much more required to snatch the three points.

Two counters which momentarily lead to overloads, one for each team – Bentancur spurns Spurs’ chance when they were three on two, then Silva gives the ball away outside the Spurs box as City look to pounce before the break. Aside from that earlier Foden chance, there hasn’t really been anything clear-cut at all.
Rodri sums up the first half by lofting a pass 25 yards to the left straight out of play for a throw-in.
Then Silva has a chance which falls his way about 12 yards from goal after Haaland’s initial effort is blocked – Dragusin diverts it over with a header before the flag goes up anyway.

Half an opening as Walker lofts a ball over the defence and Gvardiol has a shooting chance – it’s well over the bar, but Haaland wanted it laid across instead.
De Bruyne then chases a ball into the right corner but Dragusin is across to see it out well – City just haven’t really got going with their front three or four combining in this half.

Johnson fires in a shot on the angle and Ederson’s save is spilled behind for a corner.
Son swipes a shot back toward the corner flag after the set piece bounces his way and Maddison plays it off De Bruyne for another corner…except in the eyes of the assistant, all of a metre away, who gives a goal kick. A four-man attack gets Spurs back on the front foot straight away but Son overhits his pass and Foden is completely taken out as City break forward.
Play on for a bit with an advantage, but that’s eventually a yellow card for Bentancur. Textbook scything down.

Both managers a little animated on the touchline as we get past the first third of the match; the fans are not in the same bracket – it’s eerily quiet inside the TH Stadium. A few choruses of “stand up if you hate Arsenal” ring out but it’s a bit contrived.
Not much on the pitch to fire them up one way or the other as yet.

Spurs working hard off the ball to stop City passing through from deep and stopping Haaland getting too much service.
We’re told Spurs are the only team in the top seven tiers of English football to not have drawn a single home league game this season; this is their last one of course – draw this and they can’t get into the top four, but they also let Arsenal stay top of the table. Worst of both worlds as far as the home team are concerned.

24’ – Tottenham 0-0 Man City
Spurs had a real chance to break there, Johnson racing behind the City defence and onside as he was in his own half, but Maddison opts against the pass from deep and the opening is quickly gone.
Needs to be a bit sharper does the No10, who lost his place in the side recently.
Spurs moving it nicely in general, but a bit safe and slow to really hurt Man City.

Bentancur and Son combine now in the Spurs attack and Sarr finds Johnson to the right – but he’s torn between shooting and passing, in the end does half of each and only wins a corner. Romero flicks on the corner but Son is held up and City clear. Haaland is almost played through then by De Bruyne but Van de Ven is alert and covers well to make the challenge.

That’s a huge chance – and a magnificent save by Vicario. Hojbjerg’s attempted clearance is wild and dreadful, Foden watches it down and side-foots a volley at goal from eight yards – the Italian goalkeeper has balanced himself perfectly to stick a big paw up and deflect the ball away. Fine stop.
