A Toronto man is accused of luring children under the age of 16 for sexual purposes using social media platforms.

In April, officers from the Peel Regional Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit began an investigation relating to an unknown user “luring persons under 16 years of age for a sexual purpose while utilizing social media platforms.”

Police allege the accused – Shawn Collinge – had multiple social media platforms under various personas, including “Shawn Collinge” and “Shawn.collinge.39.”
The 36-year-old was arrested on June 21 and charged with luring a child under the age of 16.

Upon execution of a search warrant, police claim it became evident that further victims may have been contacted by the accused online.
The investigation is ongoing.
