A 39-year-old Toronto man is facing harassment and mischief charges after “suspicious packages” were left at a downtown residence.

Toronto Police said they responded to a “suspicious package” call on June 3 in The Esplanade-George St. S. area, where the accused was allegedly attending the victim’s address for months and dropping off packages at the residence.
The packages allegedly contained a mixture of food particles and gun rifle powder, police said.

Daniel Orr was arrested on Wednesday and charged with three counts each of criminal harassment and mischief.
Investigators believe there may be more victims.

Demonstrators charged, officer allegedly assaulted
Four people are facing charges after a police officer was allegedly assaulted while making an arrest at a weekend demonstration in the downtown core.
Toronto Police said they were in the University Ave.-Armoury St. area on Saturday at about 5:10 p.m. when they saw someone allegedly trying to paint the roadway while being covered by a large flag.
Demonstrators allegedly tried to prevent cops from making an arrest during the incident and one officer was allegedly assaulted, police said.

Alisa Gayle, 52, of Toronto, was charged with mischief/damage to property exceeding $5,000
Elif Sirin, 28, of Toronto, Brandon Sharp, 35, of Niagara, and Humza Towfeq, 31, of Brampton, were each charged with obstructing a peace officer, while Sirin was also charged with assaulting a peace officer.
