A TikToker slammed popular European destinations calling then ‘overhyped’ and ‘horrible’.
Mikaela Testa took to the social media platform to post a video of herself in Capri, Italy, slating the beloved and much-visited island.
The American influencer told her followers that she was unimpressed by the destination and that people aren’t missing out by not being there this summer – claiming ‘it is not all it’s cracked up to be’.
‘Influencers come to these locations and make them look so pretty and so photogenic and so amazing, but half of it is edited and filtered and just not real,’ she added.
‘I hardly see anyone mentioning any negatives, I don’t even want to mention them because I don’t want to be that b***h.’
Mikaela, who has been travelling with a ‘bored’ group of pals continued: ‘It’s been three months, we’re just dying to go home at this point, we’re just hating, we’re being negative.
‘You get to a point in life where you start to hate everything around you and you just need something stable. Like my own bed, my own TV and my cats.’
She proceeded to complain about the amount of walking she and her friends had to do, saying: ‘It takes the entire day to walk to a location you want to go to.’
She moaned that she had felt as if she had ‘literally burned 3,000 calories a day’ from walking up stairs in the blazing heat and that she and her friends had to throw water on themselves before going inside.
In another post she told people to ‘skip Barcelona’ if they were exploring Europe because it smells of ‘p*ss every single day.’

‘This place stinks, and it’s horrible,’ she ranted, before claiming that all her friends had their phones stolen.

More: Trending
Mikaela is just the latest influencer to join the recent TikTok trend of sharing ‘the truth’ behind widely praised holiday destinations.
And like most TikTokers who have jumped on this bandwagon, she has faced backlash.
‘Barcelona is amazing, what are you talking about,’ wrote one follower, to which Mikaela shot back: ‘Why does nobody mention the negatives like literally urine puddles EVERYWHERE and major crime, violence and theft in daylight!’
‘We’re not gonna live in Barcelona for 3 months r we tho,’ another hit back, while someone else pointed out Mikaela and her pal’s decision to wear winter clothing despite complaining about the searing temperatures.
‘They say it’s too hot but wear a winter hat and winter uggs?!’ they noted.
Another said: ‘You’re just an unsophisticated little madam. Places like Barcelona are no different from anywhere else – some good spots and some bad spots. If you can’t afford the luxurious bits just say that.’
However, some fans were in agreement with the TikToker. ‘Went on a full train and my mum’s wallet got stolen right in front of me, also a guy too and he had it in his fanny pack in front of him,’ said one person.
‘Barcelona was so rough for me. My phone and wallet got stolen,’ said another.
