On Tuesday, a ministry technician arrived with instruments for restoration and relocation and A Rocha volunteers and residents relocated the juvenile salmon 250 metres downstream to the place they might proceed their journey.
“The DFO’s appreciation for the urgency to rescue these stranded salmon, in addition to the capabilities of their area group, enabled us to seize, transport and launch 2000 plus juvenile coho salmon from impending demise,” Mah stated.
The fish had been relocated slightly below the proposed Horne Pit growth website.
