While the United States is generally more liked among populations in Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam, they see China as the pivotal economic power in the region.

This was one finding of a newly compiled opinion survey tracking popular and elite views published by the U.S. think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO)
