King Charles III’s first Trooping the Color is underway on the Home Guards Parade, as the brand new monarch is joined by the royal household to commemorate his “official” birthday.
This 12 months’s ceremony marks the primary time a monarch has joined the parade on horseback in over 30 years. The final time was when the late Queen Elizabeth rode on her favorite horse Burmese in 1986.
Charles is accompanied by the Prince of Wales William, Princess Anne and Prince Edward on horses gifted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
William and Kate’s kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis joined Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales in a carriage.
In accordance with the BBC, which is broadcasting the ceremony dwell, Camilla’s crimson silk costume “displays the heritage of the Grenadier Guards” – one of the crucial senior infantry regiments within the British empire.

After the parade, the royals will return to Buckingham Palace to look at the march-past and army flypast.
The Royal Air Pressure on Saturday tweeted that 70 aircrafts from the Royal Navy, British Military, and RAF “will fly via the skies” at 1pm.

The Trooping the Color ceremony is a royal custom that dates again to the 18th century, when it was reportedly first carried out throughout the reign of King Charles II in 1748.
