A series of raids conducted by the Sûreté du Québec Wednesday and Thursday and targeting a contraband cannabis operation has resulted in two arrests.
In a statement issued Thursday afternoon, the provincial police force said warrants executed in St-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Laval, LaSalle and Ste-Thérèse resulted in the seizure of 139 kilograms of uncut cannabis, 740 cannabis plants, 190 grams of hashish and $26,500 in cash.

A 38-year-old man and 39-year-old woman were arrested and could face charges of illegal cannabis production and drug trafficking. Both were released pending their appearance in court.
