A South Korean influencer is causing a stir on social media with her highly-edited photos.

Shashaile, who boasts more than half a million followers on Instagram, posts photos online to promote her online fashion store.

The images are heavily Photoshopped, with the Korean beauty sporting unnatural features like disproportionally long limbs, an impossibly small head and a sharp V-shaped chin.

She also has huge breasts, a tiny waist and an eerily long neck. 

Shashaile’s photos have attracted ridicule online, with hundreds of people flooding her page to leave sarcastic comments about her appearance.

‘She is so natural and real I love her!!!’ mocked one follower.

‘I really wanna see how she looks without the filters and editing,’ commented another.

Many fans pointed out how many of the model’s photos and videos have warped backgrounds – a tell-tale sign that they’ve been heavily edited. 

‘She is mother universe herself, the way she warps time and space around her,’ joked one.

Shashaile has since been forced to moderate all the comments on her page to stop people from mocking her distorted looks.  

South Korea is known for having some of the strictest beauty standards in the world and is revered for its cutting-edge plastic surgery procedures and skincare.

A number of Korean celebrities are famous for their small faces, including actress Kim Tae-hee, Shin Yuna of girl group Itzy, and actor Cha Eun-woo.

According to statistics, nearly 25% of women aged 19–29 in South Korea have undergone plastic surgery.

The unrealistic beauty standards in the country have since sparked backlash, particularly from feminist groups.

Last year, a popular cosmetic surgery reality series was shut down following growing criticism from the public.

The show, titled Let Me In, saw people come in and plead their case to receive a plastic surgery makeover so that they could improve their lives.
