
Moscow on Saturday mentioned there could be a “harsh” response and penalties for Poland’s pursuits in Russia, after Polish authorities seized a constructing close to Moscow’s embassy in Warsaw — a step Russia labeled “unlawful.”
The constructing, used as a highschool for the youngsters of diplomats, belongs to the Warsaw metropolis corridor, Polish international ministry spokesman Łukasz Jasina advised AFP, including that authorities had acted on a bailiff’s order.
However Russia’s international ministry slammed the transfer as a “hostile” act in violation of the Vienna Conference on Diplomatic Relations and as an encroachment in opposition to Russian diplomatic property in Poland.
“Such an insolent step by Warsaw, which matches past the framework of civilized inter-state relations, won’t stay with out a harsh response and penalties for the Polish authorities and Polish pursuits in Russia,” the ministry added.
“Our opinion, which has been confirmed by the courts, is that this property belongs to the Polish state and was taken by Russia illegally,” the Polish international ministry’s Jasina advised Reuters.
