Just last week, Mick Jagger’s stunning girlfriend Melanie Hamrick was spotted wearing a sparkling ring on her finger.
While the ballet dancer, 36, insisted it was a promise ring, friends have now claimed Melanie and Mick, 79, are in fact engaged.
Those close to the couple say Melanie admitted on a recent trip to New York that she is Mick’s fiancée.
‘Melanie was at the American Ballet Theatre and she was telling her friends she was engaged to Mick,’ a source told The Mirror.
‘She was very clear her ring is an engagement ring and she is now his fiancée. Her family also very much understand them to be engaged and are thrilled.’

The source added: ‘There are no plans for a wedding, but it means a lot to Melanie to be engaged – that is what she has been saying. All her friends are happy for her.’

Melanie who met the lead singer of The Rolling Stone nine years ago, had previously laughed off engagement rumours.
When asked about the ring, which she was spotted wearing in November, she clarified: ‘I have to giggle because did Mick give me the ring? Yes.
‘Is it for that finger? Yes. But are we like, h***y teenagers where we’re giving each other… In my mind, it’s a promise ring. We’ll be immature and call it a promise ring.’
The couple who met at a concert in Tokyo, have a six-year-old son named Deveraux ‘Devi’ Octavian Basil Jagger.
The musician has fathered eight children with five different women. His eldest child, a daughter named Karis, is 52 and was born from a brief relationship with actress and singer Marsha Hunt.
After that, he had a daughter named Jade who is now 51 years old. He had Jade with his former wife Bianca, whom he was married to from 1971 to 1978.

The Satisfaction singer has four children with Jerry Hall; two daughters; Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia, 32, and two sons; James, 37, and Gabriel, 25.
They had an unofficial marriage ceremony in Bali in 1990 after being together for over a decade, but it was later declared void.
Mick, 79, and Jerry ended their relationship when it came to light that Mick had been unfaithful with Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez Morad, who gave birth to Jagger’s seventh child, Lucas.
The Rolling Stones are reportedly set to release an album of new music next year – their first in almost two decades.
