‘Really upsetting’: Community mourns death of Bangladeshi student after Darwin break-in

Members of the Bangladeshi neighborhood are mourning the on Thursday of worldwide scholar, Md Isfaqur Rahman (Sifat), following an assault throughout a break-in at his residence within the Darwin suburb of Millner.

The 23-year-old man, who was enrolled at Charles Darwin College, was left in a vital situation following the assault at about 4.25am on Wednesday.

detained a 29-year-old man in reference to the assault and a murder investigation has since been opened.

The college’s Bangladeshi Pupil Affiliation staged an anti-violence rally following the dying.

A neighborhood member, Dilshana Parul, who resides in a suburb adjoining to Millner, informed SBS Bangla that the neighborhood was shaken by the “actually scary and actually upsetting” assault.
She stated it has sparked neighborhood security considerations.

Northern Territory appearing Police Commissioner, Michael Murphy, provided condolences to the Bangladeshi neighborhood and the coed’s household.

Charles Darwin College (CDU) issued a press release confirming that the coed was finishing his Grasp of Engineering.
