Prince Harry will make a “powerful” speech at the closing ceremony for the Invictus Games tonight in Germany, where he is tipped to pay an emotional tribute to his wife Meghan Markle.

The Duchess joined her husband on Tuesday night at the Games and they have continued to put on a loved-up display throughout the rest of the week, holding hands and posing for photos with fans.

For the opening ceremony last weekend Harry honoured Meghan in spite of her absence, as she had to remain home with their children in California for a few days.

He teased her for her competitiveness, particularly with Nigeria as one of the new countries competing this year, as Meghan recently discovered 43 percent of her DNA is of Nigerian descent.

Harry said: “Since my wife discovered she is of Nigerian descent it’s likely to get a little more competitive this year!”

PR expert Mayah Riaz told The Mirror that Harry’s speech at the closing ceremony is likely to mention his wife, but she will not be the main focus of the occasion.

She said: “He is very likely to acknowledge Meghan, especially as she is by his side. However, the focus of his speech will remain on celebrating the achievements and resilience of the athletes.

“Considering Prince Harry’s enthusiastic and passionate engagement throughout the games, it is very possible that his spirited nature will shine through in his closing speech.”

She added: “Emotions may run high as he shares his experiences and encounters with the athletes, but he will likely maintain a composed and inspiring tone, highlighting the transformative power of the Invictus Games.

“Harry’s speech at the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games is anticipated to be heartfelt and inspiring. Given his strong connection to the event and his deep admiration for the participants, it is likely that he will express his gratitude and admiration for the athletes, their families, and the entire Invictus community.”

British singers Rita Ora and Sam Ryder are also scheduled to perform at the event, although rumours that Meghan may be making a speech seem to have been quashed.

Even if she does not make a speech, Meghan has been very much in the limelight over the course of the week, with competitors and spectators delighted to meet her.

Harry too appears much happier since beginning his new life with Meghan and their young family, according to a body language analyst.

Darren Stanton said on behalf of Betfair Casino: “Harry has become a lot more relaxed since moving to the States. He is a completely different person.

“When he was still in the UK, he had to adhere to a lot of the royal protocols and we get the impression now that he couldn’t really be himself.

“In terms of his body language, we’ve seen Harry show fewer pacifying gestures, meaning he doesn’t feel the need to reassure himself as much as he did when he was a working royal in the UK.”
