Update
It has been a BIG few hours for Australia with seven medals added to our tally, including two breathtaking golds.
We still have Aussies in medal events in equestrian and powerlifting tonight before athletics and swimming finals early tomorrow morning (AEST).
But for now let’s take a deep breath and gear up for the rest of day ten!
Para athletics: Turner bursting with pride on the podium
James Turner belts out the national anthem with so much pride and passion after receiving his second gold medal in Paris, this time for the 100m T36.
And he’s fighting back the tears when he speaks to the Nine Network.
“Words can’t describe it, so much from so many people has gone into this, I’m just too emotional,” he said.
“I know I’ve given my coach many sleepless nights, Iryna’s (Dvoskina) worked so hard to help me get here, so many people have come together to get me here and to be able to not let them down this time has been fantastic.”

Para equestrian: Barton scores 73.96%
Australia’s Stella Barton, atop her horse Lord Lamarque, has put in a really solid performance to score 73.96% in her individual freestyle event grade I.
This event is judged on a mixture of artistic and technical components, including the athlete’s harmony with their horse, their riding skills, the choreography of the performance and the music.
Barton was the first competitor to perform, so we’ll keep you updated throughout the event.

Para equestrian: Stella Barton begins freestyle event
Australia’s Stella Barton and her horse Lord Larmarque have begun their performance in the individual freestyle grade I.
This event is all about artistic expression and interpretation.
There’s a bit of rain out there, so that could make things a bit complicated for all involved.
We’ll keep you informed.
Para table tennis: Lina Lei loses semi, takes bronze
It’s more para table tennis heartbreak for Australia.
Lina Lei, the world number one and gold medallist from Tokyo, just never quite got going in her WS9 semifinal against China’s Guiyan Xiong.
Xiong turned it on in that fifth and final game – she seemed to have an answer for every ferocious forehand Lei sent her way.
Xiong took the game 11-6 and the match 3-2.
It’s bronze for Lina Lei in the WS9 – still an awesome effort.
Para canoe: Emotional McGrath thinking of his family
While Curtis McGrath always appears so calm and in control, these Games haven’t been easy for him on a personal level.
In July, his wife Rachel gave birth to their first child, Monty, but he needed open heart surgery immediately.
McGrath had to leave them both behind only a few weeks after the birth.
The new dad teared up when telling the Nine Network how challenging it’s been.
“I’m not here just to represent Australia, I’m here to represent my family and they mean so much to me.
“It’s been hard so it’s important that I did it for them too.
“The goodbye that we had on the tenth of August was one of the hardest I’ve ever had to do.
“We’re just out here doing sport so it’s not actually that important but when we’re representing people and countries and our family members it means more.
“It’s special to have this accolade and I’m just proud to represent everyone involved in this team and my performance and my life.”

Para table tennis: Lei sends semifinal to fifth game
Better from Australia’s Lina Lei in her WS9 semifinal against China’s Guiyan Xiong.
She seemed a lot more up for it in that fourth game.
More spring in her step, more sizzle in her shot.
It was an epic rally to secure the Australian an 11-6 win in the fourth game.
It’s now 2-2 all and we’re headed to a fifth game to decide who progresses to the gold medal match.

Para table tennis: Lei loses third
Oh no, it’s looking like it could be more para table tennis heartbreak for Australia.
Lina Lei has been far from her imperious best and she has lost the second game of her WS9 semifinal against China’s Guiyan Xiong.
Xiong has won the third game 11-6 to go 2-1 up.
Lei must win this game to keep her golden aspirations alive.

Para table tennis: Lei loses second game
In comparison with the raucousness on show during Lin Ma’s earlier match with France’s Lucas Diddier, the crowd watching Australia’s Lina Lei’s semifinal with China’s Guiyan Xiong is positively sedate.
Neither player has really got into the match yet, with errors littering the first two games.
Xiong took the second 11-8 to make it 1 game all.

Para equestrian: Aussie Martin finishes sixth in individual event
Australia’s Lisa Martin has placed sixth in the individual freestyle event Grade V.
Martin, on board Vilaggio, posted a score of 71.905.
Belgium’s Michèle George (Best of 8) won gold with a score a 81.470.
Para canoe: Littlehales comes through for silver!
Dylan Littlehales left his surge late to win silver in the men’s kayak single 200m KL3 final.
Algeria’s Brahim Guendouz led from the start to win gold, while Littlehales had to put in a big effort with his final strokes to secure the silver.
He was just 0.07 seconds ahead of Brazil’s bronze medallist Miqueias Elias Rodrigues.
That’s Littlehales’ first Paralympic medal, at his third Games.
What a day for Australia on the first day of Para canoe finals!
Gold to Curtis McGrath, silver to Littlehales, and bronze to Susan Seipel.

Para table tennis bronze
Why do table tennis automatically win bronze if they lose a semi final?
– Bec
G’day Bec – there’s no bronze medal matches in the para table tennis, so both losing semi-finalists in each sports class claim bronze automatically
Para canoe: Seipel with bronze in va’a final
Susan Seipel is once again on the podium in the women’s va’a single 200m VL2.
She won silver in this event in Tokyo, and now has bronze in Paris.
It was a tight finish but she just managed to hang on for third, a well deserved medal for the 38-year-old at her third Games.
One of the great female Para canoeists, Team GB’s Emma Wiggs won her third Paralympic gold, and Canada’s Brianna Hennessy got the silver.
Para table tennis: Lin Ma takes table tennis bronze
Australia’s Lin Ma will claim MS9 table tennis bronze after his 3-2 semifinal loss to France’s Lucas Didier.
Ma went down 12-10 in the fourth and 11-8 in the fifth to give up a two games to one lead.
Didier will contest the gold medal match against Belgium’s Laurens Devos at 1am AEST.

Para cycling road: Reid finishes 13th, gold for Japan
It’s another 13th placed finish for Australia in the cycling.
Amanda Reid has just completed her C1-3 road race with a time of 1:57:02.
That was 18 minutes behind the gold medallist from Japan, Keiko Sugiura.
She finished a whisker ahead of Flurina Rigling of Switzerland in silver and the USA’s Clara Brown in bronze.
Para canoe: LONG LIVE THE PARA CANOE KING – MCGRATH CLAIMS A THREE-PEAT!
For the third consecutive Paralympics Curtis McGrath is the men’s kayak single 200m KL2 champion!
McGrath made it look so effortless, he finished a boat length ahead of his nearest rivals.
He had a good start, and you could tell the Australian was always going to win this race, his back end speed is just on another level to everyone else.
And he cooly celebrates like the king he is, alongside the minor medallists, Great Britain’s David Phillipson and Ukraine’s Mykola Syniuk.
There was a whole lot of pressure and expectation on McGrath coming into these Games, and he’s absorbed it all and excelled.
And he still has the va’a final to come tomorrow.
