The police registered a case on the same night of the incident following which five suspects have been arrested
A woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi was allegedly brutalised with an iron rod and then run over by a tractor over a small land dispute. She is currently undergoing treatment in the ICU.
According to a Times of India report, the woman’s family is locked in a property dispute and when the family of the accused attempted to cultivate the disputed farm, the victim tried to stop them and then they tried to mow her down with a tractor.
Soon after the incident was reported, the police registered a case on the same night following which five suspects, including prime accused Anil Jaiswal, were arrested.
However, the family at first did not say about the brutalisation of the victim but since a woman has some serious injuries, the police are mulling over adding additional charges against the accused after the medical examination.
The victim’s son told TOI that the accused inserted an iron rod into her private parts and when she fell unconscious, they tried to mow her down with their tractor. She was first taken to the district hospital where doctors referred her to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa, 70km away, as her condition deteriorated.
This comes just weeks after a viral video of an unidentified woman being kicked, dragged and struck with iron rods on the streets of Madhya Pradesh went viral.
The incident reportedly happened after shopkeepers asked her to move from there and she refused.
MP police were informed about the assault and have registered an FIR. However, the woman could not be located.
