Meghan Markle “continues to walk with purpose” despite the backlash she has received, claimed award-winning actress Audra McDonald.
The Broadway star, 53, revealed in a new interview that the Duchess of Sussex is the person she most admires, saying: “Meghan Markle. I don’t know how she continues to walk through this world with the grace, strength, and purpose that she does given the unbearable amount of vitriol and hate she has been subjected to, but she does.
She added to Vanity Fair: “I wish she didn’t have to.”
The Respect star’s comments come after Meghan, 42, is said to be leaning on her girl pals.
She was recently seen attending a Taylor Swift concert with her neighbour Portia De Rossi and enjoying an alfresco lunch with friends.
The Duchess of Sussex was also reported to be using coping mechanisms such as meditation, yoga and exercise to deal with stressors.
Back in June it was announced that Harry and Meghan Markle’s multi-year partnership deal with Spotify worth £15 million had collapsed.
In addition, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix deal is reportedly hanging in the balance due to the ongoing writer’s strike in Hollywood.
Elsewhere, it has been reported Meghan will be joining her husband at the Invictus Games next month.
She is expected to miss the opening ceremony and join her husband Prince Harry later at the sporting event.
The Invictus Games, which was founded by the duke in 2014 for wounded military personnel and veterans, will be taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from September 9 for eight days.
Royal commentator Omid Scobie said in a tweet shared on Wednesday (24 August), penned: “A spokesperson confirms that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are ‘delighted to be attending’ the Invictus Games 2023 in Düsseldorf next month.
“Harry will be there from the start and Meghan will join him later on in the competition. They’ll both be at the closing ceremony.”
