A roadside stop by Mayerthrope RCMP lead to the seizure of roughly $20,000 in drugs, cash, ammunition, and tools.
On Dec. 24, Mounties responded to a call of a suspicious and possibly impaired vehicle in the Lac Ste. Anne area, about 87 km northwest of Edmonton.

RCMP soon conducted a roadside stop and spoke with the driver, noting several suspicious items in plain view. The driver was detained and arrested on drug-related offences.

Mounties searched the vehicle and seized:
-252 g of suspected methamphetamine;
-1.7 g of suspected cocaine;
-1.6 g of suspected fentanyl;
-$2,715 in cash;
-break and enter tools;
-bear mace;
-and ammunition.
Jamie Lynn Day, 31, is charged with the nine offences, including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, among other charges.
Day was brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions. She is to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Mayerthorpe on Jan. 25, 2024.
