A man in his 30s died Saturday morning after losing control of his car in Jonquière, a borough in the city of Saguenay.
The crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. on Highway 70.

“According to early information, the vehicle swerved while hydroplaning, before going off the road,” said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Éric Cadotte. “The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.”
Cadotte added a passenger in the car, also a man in his 30s, who was wearing a seatbelt, did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
The Sûreté du Québec had dispatched a traffic collision investigator to the scene to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash.
