Malik, Phogat, Punia booked after scuffle with police

The Delhi Police booked wrestlers Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia together with their supporters on costs of rioting and obstructing public servant in discharge of obligation after they have been detained whereas marching to the brand new Parliament constructing on Sunday.

Reacting to the event, Vinesh Phogat stated whereas it took the Delhi Police seven days to register an FIR towards Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, it did not even take seven hours to e book those that have been holding a protesting “peacefully”.


The wrestlers had been protesting at Jantar Mantar towards Singh since April 23 demanding his arrest for alleged sexual harassment of seven ladies grapplers, together with a minor.

Sections 352 (assault or felony pressure in any other case than on grave provocation), 147 (rioting) and 149 (illegal meeting) of the IPC and Part 3 (mischief inflicting injury to public property) of the Prevention of Injury to Public Property Act have additionally been invoked, he stated.


Vinesh Phogat criticised the Delhi Police for submitting the FIR towards the protesters.
