Nearly three years on from this decade’s most famous ship accident and lawyers remain busy.
AP Moller-Maersk has just settled a lawsuit against the companies involved in the Ever Given containership six-day blockage of the Suez Canal in early 2021.
“We can confirm that we have withdrawn the case in Denmark,” the carrier told Bloomberg yesterday. No details of the settlement have been revealed.
The ship was eventually freed from its wedged position straddling a southern portion of the canal, having created headlines around the world, with many vessels diverting around the cape.
The giant ship is owned by Shoei Kisen Kaisha, operated by Evergreen, and managed by Bernhard Schulte.
