The Ludhiana police on Thursday booked BJP leader Jagmohan Sharma, his son Gaurav Sharma, and five of their yet-to-be-identified aides, for allegedly abducting and assaulting a factory owner over a monetary dispute.
The complainant in the case also alleged that Sharma had brandished a weapon at him during Thursday’s alleged incident.

As per details, Jagmohan Sharma had contested the Punjab Assembly polls last year on a BJP ticket from Ludhiana East constituency last year but was defeated by AAP’s Daljit Singh Grewal.
The complainant in the case, identified as one Shivam Aggarwal, a resident of South City, also told the police that while fleeing, Sharma had dropped the cover of his licensed pistol along with five bullets on the spot. The police later recovered both the objects from the incident spot.
Shivam, the son of factory owner Pramod Kumar, told the police that Jagmohan Sharma, along with his aides, had barged into their factory over a pending payment of Rs 57,000. His father told him that he has already sent one of his employees to the bank and would clear his payment soon.

However, Jagmohan started abusing Pramod Kumar and allegedly slapped him. The accused also proceeded to pull out his licenced gun and place it on Pramod’s head, threatening to shoot him.
The complaint further reads that Shivam and other factory workers later intervened and pushed the BJP leader and his aides outside the factory. Sgivam then claimed that he locked the main gate of the factory from the inside and called up the police.
He added that after the BJP leader left, his son Gaurav called and threatened them again. Station House Officer (SHO) of Focal Point police station, Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar, said that an FIR under sections 452, 323, 362, 511, 506, 148, 149 of the IPC has been registered against Sharma, his son and others. He added that a pistol cover and bullets were recovered from the factory, and all the suspects will be arrested soon.
