Leopard loses battle to troop of 50 baboons in middle of the road

A leopard thought it was a good idea to hunt a large troop of baboons but quickly learned that it was a grave mistake.

Between Kukuza and Tsokwane in Kruger National Park, bush lover Ricky da Fonseca captured a rare sighting right in the middle of the road.

A leopard was spotted creeping in the tall grass alongside the road, its attention fully on the large troop of baboons.

‘As the leopard closed in on the baboons, anticipation hung in the air. Suddenly, with a burst of speed, the leopard sprang from the grass in an attempt to catch one of the baboons off guard,’ Ricky said.

‘The troop of baboons reacted very quickly; they attacked as a troop. This threw the leopard off, and they capitalized, surrounding it, screaming, and biting at it. They showed no mercy at all.’

The leopard was clearly outnumbered. Watch this incredible sighting below.
