Herald Sun business commentator Terry McCrann says the Albanese government are “demonising” coal-fired power which is causing the electricity grid to fail.
Labor will pay coal generators nearly $1 billion in compensation for his price cap which capped the cost of coal-fired power at $125 a tonne.
“If they don’t keep operating, because renewables are useless, you won’t get the lights to stay on,” Mr McCrann told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“We’ve already had a taste of that in Victoria in the last couple of weeks.
“What this promises to do is to put band-aids on the whole power system going forward – across the country.”
