Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with the EU countries totaled $17.6
billion from January through May 2023, Trend reports.
According to Kazakhstan’s National Bureau of
Statistics, this figure indicates a slight increase of 3.17 percent
compared to the same period of the previous year, when the foreign
trade between the parties was $17.1 billion.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s export to the EU in the
reporting period decreased by 9.6 percent. During the first five
months of this year, Kazakhstan exported goods to the EU worth
$13.3 billion, while in the same period last year, this figure
stood at $14.7 billion.
Kazakh imports from the EU, on the other hand,
significantly increased. As such, in the reporting period, the EU
exported goods to Kazakhstan worth $4.3 billion, indicating a
growth of 82.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous
year, when this figure stood at $2.3 billion.
Kazakhstan’s overall turnover with Europe (including
non-EU states) amounted to $17.9 billion, which accounts for 34.7
percent of Kazakhstan’s total trade turnover.
