The interior of the mass-production version of the MG Cyberster was officially unveiled in China. It has appeared to differ slightly from the pre-production model that was shown in the UK. The Cyberster will hit the Chinese market this year with 544 hp and a 3-second zero-to-hundred acceleration time. And in 2024, it will make its market debut in the UK, priced at 55,000 – 65,000 GBP (70,460 – 83,300 USD).

Mass-production MG Cyberster interior

Pre-production Cyberster (displayed in the UK)

Previously, we saw only the pre-production model of the MG Cyberster that was shown to press and even test-driven. But the mass-production model has a lightly updated interior design. At first sight, we can see the biggest difference. The MG Cyberster now has a conventional steering wheel instead of the steering yoke. It seems that the steering yoke will become an extra option, while the steering wheel will go as standard. Speaking of the wheel itself, it has got three spokes and a flat bottom. It also has a drive mode selector and some additional shifters behind it. So, it basically has similar functions as the steering yoke, but in a more conventional shape.

Aside from the wheel, we can also highlight the color of the interior. It is finished in red, while the pre-production version had a red-black-white color scheme. Pillars and roof are the only black elements of the Cyberster’s interior. In our opinion, the new shade of red looks just right. Speaking about the roof, we should mention that the MG Cyberster mass-production version is a convertible, like the pre-production model. On the door cards of the Cyberster, we can see seat adjustment buttons.

The screens of the MG Cyberster remained the same. The driver has a total of three screens in front of him. They form a curved monitor that sits behind the steering wheel and looks quite nice. As for the center tunnel, it was also untouched. It has a bunch of touch-sensitive climate-control buttons. Under these buttons, we can notice the gear selector, which is presented by some physical buttons. Moreover, you have two parking brake buttons in the car. The first one is located in the center tunnel, and the second one sits on the left of the steering wheel. Back to the center tunnel, it has one more screen, roof control buttons and a pair of cup holders.

Basics on the MG Cyberster

The MG Cyberster will be manufactured in China by SAIC Group. It is a pretty large two-door roadster with dimensions of 4535/1913/1329 mm and a wheelbase of 2690 mm. Its exterior is quite cool, with scissor doors and sporty bumpers. The entry-level Cyberster got an electric motor for 314 hp on the rear axle. As for the top-trim level, it has 4WD, and a combined power output of 544 hp. The top speed of the Cyberster reaches 200 km/h. According to the registration fillings, the Cyberster got two battery options: for 64 kWh and 77 kWh for 501-580 km of range. This range number looks quite small, but MG couldn’t place a bigger battery here because of weight. The 4WD Cyberster already weighs 1985 kg.

As mentioned, the MG Cyberster will hit the Chinese market this year. According to rumors, its price tag will start from 300,000 yuan (41,460 USD). On the other hand, it will hit the UK market in 2024, with a starting price of 55,000 GBP (70,460 USD). The thing is the BMW Z4 starts here from 44,490 GBP (57,000 USD), and the Porsche 718 Boxter starts from 55,420 GBP (70,960 USD). It means that the MG Cyberster will have an intense competition in this market. It will be really hard for it to compete with some equally priced or even more affordable petrol-powered roadsters from the Legacy brands. Anyway, we will keep an eye on the MG Cyberster, so stay tuned!
