The ‘Vande Sadharan’ train will be a first-of-its-kind “push-pull train” having 22 coaches with two locomotives, one on either side.
Along with the Vande Bharat Sleeper version and the Vande Metro, the Indian Railways is also set to launch a new non-AC version of the flagship train. The Vande Bharat non-AC Express will be a first-of-its-kind “push-pull train” and is expected to be launched by October this year, a senior Railway official said on Friday.
“We’ll be launching the sleeper version of the Vande within this financial year. We’ll also be launching the Vande Metro in this financial year. And we’ll be launching this train for non-air conditioned passengers, which is called a non-AC push-pull train, which will have 22 coaches and a locomotive. And that launch is going to happen before 31st October,” B G Mallya, General Manager of Integral Coach Factory said.

The push-pull Vande Bharat trains will have 22 coaches with two locomotives, one on either side. The prototype is running ahead of the roll out schedule, it was reported last month. These trains are reportedly designed to run at speeds of around 130 kmph and will have sleeper and second class categories.
Dubbed ‘Vande Sadharan’, these trains will offer better comfort and convenience while travelling for non-AC passengers, including adequate charging points, better interiors, lighting and toilets. According to reports, the 22-coach train will have 12 sleeper class coaches, 8 second sitting coaches and two coaches for differently abled and luggage.
