Flashing blue and red lights and a voiceover directing someone to “bag him” effectively set the stage for this show, which takes us through our protagonist James’s memories as his life hangs on a precipice. He endures standard disappointments like the dissolution of a relationship, but we also witness the moment a leg injury dashes his pro-athlete dreams and results in a prescription for painkillers. A downward spiral follows, the vortex that sucked away everything good in his life, pulling him under and into this otherworldly dimension inside his dying mind.
