Fed up by an infinite pothole in his Los Angeles neighborhood, Arnold Schwarzenegger picked up a shovel and crammed it himself.
The actor and former California governor tweeted a video Tuesday of him and a helper utilizing packaged concrete to restore the street within the Brentwood space.
“Right this moment, after the entire neighborhood has been upset about this big pothole that’s been screwing up automobiles and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my crew and stuck it,” he wrote on Twitter. “I at all times say, let’s not complain, let’s do one thing about it. Right here you go.”
A neighbor rolled down her automobile window and shouted her thanks on the motion film star.
“You’re welcome,” stated Schwarzenegger, decked out in work boots, a leather-based jacket and shades harking back to his function in “Terminator.”
“It’s important to do it your self. That is loopy. For 3 weeks I’ve been ready for this gap to be closed,” he stated.
Daniel Ketchell, a spokesperson for Schwarzenegger, stated Brentwood residents made repeated requests for repairs since winter storms opened up potholes and cracks on native roads.
Mayor Karen Bass final week introduced a plan to deal with what she known as an unprecedented variety of broken streets throughout the town. Since Dec. 30, Los Angeles has obtained 19,692 service requests for repairs, and as of April 6, crews had crammed at the least 17,549 potholes, officers stated.
The Division of Public Works didn’t instantly reply to an e-mail asking whether or not the pothole Schwarzenegger crammed had been scheduled to be repaired.
