The four-episode drama aired in July and was stripped across an entire week.
It saw Danny play the character of British ex-pat Steve Cameron who emigrated to Australia with his best friend Brad Fisher.
The cast included Scottish-born actor and presenter Darren McMullen, Jane Allsop, Pia Miranda, Olympia Valance and Neighbours star Richie Morris.
But despite the potential for a second season, Heat won’t be back for another run.
An TV insider told us: “Channel 5 were very happy with Heat but they only intended for it to be one dramatic series.
“It was a joint venture with Network 10 Down Dnder like other series they’ve done with big British actors.
“Jason Herbison, who is also the exec producer of Neighbours, only penned one series anyway.”
Viewers watched Steve and Brad get together with their families at Brad’s huge mansion when a fast-spreading bushfire threatens their lives.
Money woes and affairs were also brought to the surface which resulted in two main characters being killed off.
Heat opened to an official audience of 1.83 million viewers – with the final episode pulling in 1.36 million.
It received brutal reviews from Channel 5 viewers – with some ‘losing the will to live’ and switching off after one episode.
One telly watcher said the programme was so boring they had ‘started their Christmas shopping’.
