Edmonton weather: Warmer with a chance of showers risk of thunderstorm

A look at Wednesday’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.

It’s 13 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station, with 8 km/h winds from the south, southwest.

The sun just started to poke out from behind the clouds but it seems we’ll be playing peek-a-boo all day.

The forecast is calling for a daytime high of 26 C with a 60 per cent chance of showers with a risk of a thunderstorm.

We’re still seeing some local smoke hang over us with a light haze in the air for today but that will increase on Thursday, with widespread smoke expected to blanket the city around noon.

Temperatures heading into the weekend continue to look lovely with lots of sunshine in forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
